Followed me home Advice Hi all!!!

I just woke up about an hour ago. I stepped out for my morning cigarette and this little gal followed me back inside. I saw her a few weeks ago when she was significantly smaller but she ran back into the woods when i tried to call her. I live out in a wooded area so she definitely doesnt have an owner. She seems to be in pretty good health. She's very affectionate and playful and curious.

I lost my dog of 15 years about 2 months ago and I am still just so devastated over it so if this little cat wants to stay, I am leaning towards giving it a go. I've never had a cat. This one is definitely a little freeloader and believe she may be a terrorist trying to infiltrate my home base. What information does she want from me???

More importantly, aside from taking her to a vet which I'll schedule an appointment for when they open, what can I do to make this little girl comfortable and happy here, as well as me being a first time hostage of an armed kitten take over??? Any tips are appreciated...

BwookieBear • 17h ago If you take her to the vet and she ends up being pregnant, don't feel bad about getting a kitty abortion. Shelter rates are at an all time high and adoption rates are low meaning they'd most likely end up in a humane society for awhile before they got adopted or someone would try to rehome one and there's not many people to take them. My cat I found 5 years ago was like maybe a week or two pregnant and they did the abortion and got her fixed. She was a little standoffish af

AmySparrow00 • 15h ago Double check your house plants to put any toxic to cats out of reach. Lilies are especially very dangerous. Sounds like she might love one of those sweatshirts with a pocket or a baby carrier so she can stay on your chest while you get stuff done!

ouijac 19h ago ..sorry to hear your dog passed..that's never easy.. ..but maybe this new arrival is the Cat Distribution Network in full effect..enjoy more love from the newbie!.. ..#1 suggest: make him/her an indoor-only cat.. #2 when you hit the Vey, get a microchip.. ..#s 3 thru five: just love, and talk out loud (or even sing), don't pursue or force anything..the kitten will come to you.. ..what's her/his name?..

TheWednesdayProj... •20h ago • Edited 19h ago Congratulations on being the chosen one! Get her some toys (scratching post, toy mice, etc.) and her own bed to give her a safe space until she gets comfortable. Cat food and a litter box as well, like you stated. Keep the litter box away from her food. A lot of cat owners make this mistake in the beginning. She looks really healthy and curious! You got a cute one.
